Youth Police Academy

Introducing the Clayton Police Department Youth Academy

This academy aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • To promote responsible citizenship among young people.
  • To foster positive interactions between young people and police officers while educating them about the challenges and responsibilities of police work.
  • To inspire young people to take an active role in their community.

The Youth Police Academy is a four-day program filled with classroom sessions, field trips, and valuable lectures.

Starting on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Clayton Police Department, students will attend lectures on law, behavioral science, drug prevention, gang resistance, and life skills, as well as participate in role-playing and demonstrations. Transportation will be provided for field trips, and all sites are easily accessible by public transportation. The academy will end on Thursday, July 27.

It's important to dress appropriately for the program, avoiding any dirty or torn clothing. The Academy will open at 8:30 a.m., and dismissal will be at 12:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to learn and enjoy your summer.
